In Dec 2021, Li Xuezheng posted a letter from Zhang Mama that is the only verified writing from her post-813. It stated in part:

In order to avoid giving trouble to our country, my son and I suppressed the sorrow in our hearts and insisted on not speaking out so as not to give trouble to our government. We believe that our party and country will, after investigating the evidence, provide an accurate judgment and conclusion.
