During 813, Mirror Media published a number of articles repeating the rumors on Weibo and calling Zhang Zhehan "pro-Japan".[2][3][4] Besides the very inflammatory language used, these articles also contain a number of factual errors including but not limited to:
- The wedding at Nogi Shrine was in 2019 (it was in 2018).
- Dewi Sukarno is associated with the Chinese genocide in Indonesia (her husband was pro-China).
