斗地主的武大师, 解惑大师武亚瑄, real name 武亚瑄 or 武亚翾, known to international fans as Master Wu or Grifter Wu after his past history was revealed. He lives in 嘉兴 Jiaxing, 浙江 Zhejiang.

History of Fraud

Wu first became known in the fandom as a "righteous bystander" vocally supporting Li Xuezheng. On December 4, Wu made a post on Weibo claiming to be the descendent of high-ranking CCP members and that he grew up across the street from "grandpa Deng," understood to mean Deng Xiaoping. At the times, fans largely took him at his word and believed his claims about his background and education (Tsinghua University).

The phone number that was used to register Wu's Weibo accounts matches to a WeChat account that also belongs to him, as well as the companies listed in his Weibo profile.

Education

Wu's Weibo account profile lists him as a graduate of Tsinghua University and he has also spoken of himself as a graduate of Tsinghua on multiple Weibo posts in December 2021.

However, on the same Weibo account, Wu made a post in April 2022 claiming to be a graduate of Peking University. When questioned about the inconsistency, he claimed that he has an EMBA from Tsinghua, despite the fact that his profile lists him as a graduate of Tsinghua School of Physical Education. His name is not listed in Tsinghua alumni database, which was shown to list EMBA graduates from over ten years ago. The Peking University bed sheet he posted is actually from Peking University Experimental School, a school serving students in grades K-12.

Wu's LinkedIn and Zhihu profiles list him as a graduate of 太原科技大学大专 Taiyuan University of Science and Technology.

Career

In 2015, at the height of the hype of Theranos, Wu and his father applied for a patent involving a device that uses vacuum technology to draw blood without breaking skin for blood sugar testing. Neither of them have medical degrees. The patent is now expired.

Wu's Weibo profile lists him as CEO of 浙江华怡文化发展有限公司, a position he never held according to the public records of the company. He left the company in 2018 with the title of manager.

In November 2021, Wu was accused of plagiarism and fraud by Huaren News. He apparently marketed himself as a financial guru and gave psychic financial advice on a Weibo account with 113k followers.

Wu's father previously owned a coffee shop, now bankrupt. Wu has used his Weibo account to sell coffee beans to fans.

Family

Wu is divorced with one child. During his divorce between 2014-2016, his mother sued him for funds borrowed to purchase real estate during his marriage. In China, marriage law stipulates that assets cannot be split in a divorce if debts exist. The judge found signs that mother/son edited the loan agreements multiple times without the knowledge of his ex-wife. Wu and his mother apparently colluded to cheat his ex-wife out of a fair division of assets in their divorce.

Fandom Activities

Since mid 2022, after his real background and identity were revealed, Wu's Weibo account has become solely dedicated to calling Gong Jun slurs and promoting his own image.
