Baidupedia

百度百科, Baidu Baike, Baidupedia, China's version of Wikipedia (which is blocked by China's firewall), owned by Baidu. Unlike Wikipedia, past versions of pages are not available to regular users, and edits from regular users can take a long time to be approved by mods. Thus an industry exists in which high level users contract out their services to people who want to make edits on Baidupedia.

Baidupedia is as widely referenced in China as Wikipedia is in the rest of the world.

Baidupedia is patrolled by the Baidu Kedou team, aka Baike Elite Team, a group of super mods directly overseen by (and perhaps paid by) Baidu. There is circumstantial evidence that members of this team have also hired out their services to directly edit pages for clients.
